“What is justice?” by BAND-MAID Now Available – Featured in This Season’s Hit Anime Tougen Anki

July 18, 2025 — “What is justice?” marks the latest release from BAND-MAID, the internationally acclaimed rock band on a mission for world domination. Featured as the ending theme to Tougen Anki—one of this season’s most buzzed-about anime—the track arrives alongside a high-impact music video fusing the show’s dark aesthetic with the band’s signature intensity.

The video opens with a striking red backdrop and a silhouette of guitarist KANAMI, hinting at the anime’s visual style. From there, BAND-MAID delivers a blistering performance, echoing the series’ themes and supernatural elements. As a specially written track for Tougen Anki, the video is packed with nods fans will recognize, inviting repeat viewings.

What if Momotaro was the bad guy? TOUGEN ANKI is a popular manga series by Yura Urushibara, published in AKITASHOTENʼs Weekly Shōnen Champion. Drawing from the beloved Japanese folktale “Momotaro, ” the series depicts the conflict between descendants of Oni (demons) and Momotaro. With the manga having surpassed 3 million cumulative units printed, the TOUGEN ANKI Project was launched in June 2023. The first installment of the project was a stage play, and now, as the second installment, TOUGEN ANKI is set to receive a TV anime adaptation. Shiki Ichinose, who is living a normal life as an ordinary human, is suddenly attacked by a mysterious man affiliated with the Momotaro Agency.
